Today I bring to you career, space, and open source.

1. The roadmap that you were missing

🧭 Students always ask me what I should be learning to become … (front-end developer, backend developer, full-stack, etc…). That is a hard question to answer, but this site claims to solve that with roadmaps build to support the learning journey of any tech professional.

First time I came across it was today and it looks amazing. You can get yourself organized and figure out exactly what you need to learn to became whatever you want within Tech.

Disclaimer: I’m not sure how accurate are these roadmaps. I wonder what kind of review process they have.

1. A remote update, far, far away

🚀 Voyager 2 is a spacecraft as old as I am. It was lunched in 1977 and it is almost 20 billion kilometers aways from Earth.

NASA has sent a software update to it recently that should keep it running for even longer. I had no idea that this would be possible. I wonder how the new code looks like and which programming language was code in coded in. I think it wasn’t JavaScript. Just a wild guess.

Personal Updates:

• 🎤️ Tuesday I delivered the so anticipated webinar (emancipated by me, just to be clear, no one else :) I had been preparing since I started in the new company. It went well. I liked my delivery, with the exception that I went a bit too fast. It was supposed to be 1 hour long, but I was done within 45 min. I knew I was going fast, but only tried to slow down in the end, when it was a bit too late. I got positive feedback, but who knows. Gone and done - I’m glad. Next?

• 🚂 I worked from the office 3 times this week. Lots of people came from different countries. We are all remote, but it was the 25th anniversary of the company and a time for celebration. To be honest I got exhausted of seeing people. I’m not used to work with people around anymore. It drains my energy. But it was good to connect with people 1-on-1.

• 🧤 It’s getting colder. I’m buying a ticket to Brazil for January.
